By downloading or using the Friends App ("Friends", "the app", "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Friends mobile application operated by Rao Apps Corporation ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account
- You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of other people without permission
- You must notify us immediately at support@friendsapp.net if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Friends to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate other users
- Post or share illegal content
- Impersonate another person or create a false identity
- Spam other users with unsolicited friend requests or event invites
- Use the app to organise or promote illegal activities
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to access our systems without authorisation
- Create events designed to deceive, defraud, or endanger attendees
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
4. User content
You retain ownership of content you create on Friends (event titles, descriptions, profile information, photos). By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the app.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms without notice.
5. Privacy
Your use of Friends is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
6. Events and meetups
Friends is a platform that enables users to organise social events. We are not responsible for:
- The safety of any in-person event organised through the app
- The accuracy of event details posted by users
- Any injury, loss, or damage arising from attendance at an event
You attend any event at your own risk. Please exercise reasonable caution when meeting people you don't know in person.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in harmful conduct toward other users, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time from the app settings.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Friends is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rao Apps Corporation shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Copyright / DMCA
Rao Apps Corporation respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. Rao Apps Corporation has registered a designated DMCA agent with the U.S. Copyright Office (Registration Number: DMCA-1071314). If you believe that content on the app infringes your copyright, please send a notice to our designated DMCA agent at support@friendsapp.net with the following information:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- A description of where the infringing material is located in the app
- Your contact information (name, address, phone number, email)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf
- Your electronic or physical signature
Repeat infringer policy: Rao Apps Corporation will terminate the accounts of users who are found to repeatedly infringe the copyrights of others.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
