Search by username: Tap the Search icon on your profile screen and type their username.
Import from contacts: Tap "Contacts" on your profile screen. We match your contacts' phone numbers to Friends accounts — your contact list is never uploaded to our servers.
When creating an event you choose one of four visibility levels:
Friends only — only people on your friends list can see the event.
Friends of friends — your friends and their friends can see it.
Custom — you hand-pick specific people to invite.
Public — anyone using Friends nearby can see it on the map.
Go to your Profile tab → scroll down to the Account section → tap Sign Out. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@friendsapp.net with the subject "Delete my account" from the email address you registered with. We'll process the deletion within 30 days.
Location is used to show you events happening near you on the map. We use your location only while you have the app open — we do not track your location in the background or store your location history.
You can revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings → Friends → Location.
Block: Go to the user's profile → tap the three-dot menu → Block. Blocked users cannot see your events, send you friend requests, or invite you to events.
Report: Go to the user's profile → tap the three-dot menu → Report. Select a reason and submit. Our team reviews all reports.
First check that notifications are enabled in your device Settings → Friends → Notifications.
Then check your in-app preferences: Profile → Notification Preferences — make sure the relevant types are turned on.
If notifications are still not arriving, try signing out and back in. If the issue persists, email us.
Open the event → tap the three-dot menu in the top right → Cancel Event. All RSVPed attendees will be notified automatically.
Yes — Friends is completely free to download and use. There are no subscriptions, no premium tiers, and no in-app purchases.
